Medications

All medications should be taken at home, if possible.  It is recommended that most medications taken three (3) times-a-day or less should be administered at home, unless specified by the provider.

An occasional dose of OTC medications can be administered at school, with parental written request on the "Parent Authorization for Over-the-Counter Medication Form," such as a pain reliever, cough medicine, etc.

Prescription medications take four (4) times-a-day, or as directed by the provider, can be administered at school with a "Provider Order and Medication Authorization Form," completed by the provider and signed by the parent.

All medications must be provided, to the school, by the parent.  All medications need to be provided in the original container with the authorization instructions matching the medication container.

Medications may not be carried by a student or sent home with a student with the exception of emergency medications, e.g. asthma inhaler, etc.

Parents are always welcome to come to school to administer any medications to their child.
